PUBLIC ADJUSTER FAQ: YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What is a public adjuster?

A Public Adjuster is a licensed insurance professional who works for you, the policyholder, not the insurance company. Your insurer has its own adjusters protecting its interests. We document your damage, interpret your policy, and negotiate with the carrier so you receive the full settlement you're entitled to.

Are there deadlines for filing a claim?

Yes. Your policy and state law set deadlines for reporting damage and filing claims, and these deadlines have been shortened in some states in recent years. If you've had damage, contact us as soon as possible so your claim isn't put at risk.

Can I hire a public adjuster if I already filed my claim?

Yes. You can bring us in at any stage, whether before you file, during the claim, or after you've received an offer you're unhappy with. The earlier we're involved, the more we can document, but it's never too late to ask for a review.

Which states do you serve?

NPAS is licensed in Florida (#W877047), Texas (#2882343), Georgia (#3656093), and Colorado (#803786). Our headquarters is in Coral Gables, Florida, and we're expanding to more states.

How long does the claims process usually take?

It can take 3 to 6 months but it depends on the size and complexity of the loss and how quickly the insurer responds. Straightforward residential claims usually move faster than large commercial losses. We handle the communication and follow-up so you don't have to chase the carrier.

What types of claims do you handle?

We handle both residential and commercial property claims, including roof and storm damage (wind, hail, and hurricanes), fire and smoke damage, water and mold damage, plumbing and interior damage, and large commercial building losses. We also take on claims that have been denied or underpaid.

How much does NPAS cost?

There's no upfront cost. We work on a contingency fee  that varies within the limits set by each state law, meaning we only get paid a percentage of what we recover for you. No recovery, no fee. Your claim review, inspection, and policy review are free.

My claim was denied or underpaid. Can you still help?

Often, yes. Many denials and low offers come from incomplete documentation or a narrow reading of the policy. We review your file, gather missing evidence, re-estimate the damage, and negotiate directly with your carrier to challenge the decision.

What should I send you for a free review?

If you have them, send your insurance policy, any claim letters or estimates from your carrier, and photos of the damage. You can upload paperwork directly through our contact form, or call us at 888-898-6598.

Do I still have to deal with my insurance company?

Yes, you might still be required to contact your insurance carrier for specific things, but we advocate for you. Once you hire NPAS, we become your representative with the them. We handle inspections, documentation, estimates, and negotiations, and keep you updated at every step. We negotiate and aim for a fair settlement.
